NWMH Training & Development Unit (MHTDU)

We offer a variety of workshops and programs designed for mental health practitioners of all disciplines. We advocate the participation of both the Consumer and Carer workforce in planning and delivery of training.

Who can attend our workshops?

Professional development workshops are primarily provided for clinicians who work in NorthWestern Mental Health programs.

Clinicians from other state funded Department of Health Area Mental Health Services (Adult & CAMHS), and from relevant professional backgrounds including service sector staff such as private clinicians, mental health community support services, NGOs and other support services are able to attend for a fee.

Early registration is highly recommended to ensure your place, due to limited availability.

Registration confirmation

Registrations are confirmed via email within 5 working days. If you do not receive a confirmation, contact us.

A reminder confirmation email will also be sent to registered participants one week prior to the workshop.

Time and location of workshops

Workshops advertised are all day, unless otherwise indicated. Registration is 8.45am for a 9am start, finishing at 4.30pm.

Workshop times and locations are listed on the calendar and are included in the workshop confirmation email.

Attendance for the full duration of the workshop is mandatory.

If the workshop is fully booked, MHTDU will notify the applicant and place them on the waiting list. The applicant will be contacted if a position becomes available.

Fees

Our staff can attend free of charge. There is an attendance fee for external participants attending our training (applicants not currently employment by NWMH):

• Two day workshop $450.00 (inc GST)
• Full day workshop $250.00 (inc GST)
• Half day workshop $130.00 (inc GST)

Our training consultants can assist in the identification of organisational training needs and the development of training processes linked to mental health. On-site, team-based and discipline specific training can be tailored to the individual requirements of organisations across Australia, including:
